On the album Channel Mae, listeners are invited into a fictional radio show, where listeners are guided through the story and songs by a radio host.

The audience is taken on a journey in a Bonnie & Clyde-like universe and witnesses a drama unfold.

While the story takes place in a meta-universe, it reflects Hedda's real experiences from the past few years and criticizes the imbalanced power dynamics within her industry.

The the first single from the album, "La di frickin da", was met with rave reviews - The song received five-star reviews from Aftenposten, Dagsavisen, and Bergens Tidende.

The latter wrote: "Taylor Swift has her Shake it off, Eminem has The Real Slim Shady, and Hedda Mae has La di frickin da."
