First achieving recognition with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, in which he replaced Eric Clapton, Green founded Fleetwood Mac in 1967.

As that band's first leader, Green wrote classic songs including "Black Magic Woman," "Oh Well," "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)," "Man of the World" and "Albatross," all of which were also major hit singles in England.

At the height of Fleetwood Mac's early popularity, Green succumbed to drug and mental health issues and left the band in May 1970.

Despite continuing health challenges, Peter Green reemerged as a solo artist in the late '70s with a series of albums on PVK Records.

Comeback album In the Skies was Green's second solo record and first after 8 years in obscurity.

Green surrounded himself with longtime friends Peter Bardens (Camel), Snowy White and members of Snowy White's band including Kuma Harada and Reg Isidore (Robin Trower).

Together they cut a modest, relaxed mix of vocal numbers and instrumentals, composed songs and jams.
