Heralded as one of rock's greatest guitarists, Leslie West formed Mountain in 1969 and continued on with band member Corky Laing throughout their career.
In 1984 Mark Clarke, of Uriah Heep fame, joined the band on bass. The 7 tracks on Eruption were recorded in 1985 with this lineup at the legendary NYC night clubs, The Ritz and L'Amour.
The set features 3 of their most popular songs with a blistering version of Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way".
The album makes its vinyl debut. Mountain was formed in 1969 by West and Felix Pappalardi His musical career began with the Vagrants, an R&B/blue-eyed soul-rock band, West died December 23, 2020 at age 75.
He helped popularize the Gibson Les Paul Jr. guitar with P-90 pickups, along with the use of Sunn Amplifiers.
Leslie West has been acknowledged as one of rock 'n' roll's greatest guitarists.
