There's a reason why Motosierra is called "the wildest band in South America", and the Uruguayan trio shows us why with their new LP.
There is no other band that does what they do in the continent and much less as well as they do it.
Rock'n'roll that is equally aggressive, raw, dark and catchy. The band's trademark spitfire vocals and guitar driven madness are still easily recognizable in the new self-titled release, but this is probably the band's darkest album to date.
The raunchy punk rock angst of their early works, has given way to the cynical perspective of the same guys, who have now been around the block.
The new material is still killer, but more moody than before. There are still trademark Motosierra songs like "La Marcos", or "Lobo del Aire", but the surprising moments like the tribal inspired joyride "Sepuzombie", or "Magia Negra" that make this album something really fresh and the most surprising from the band.
Production-wise, there is a definite effort to bring the sound back to basics of a rocking band playing live, with less guitar overdubs, and a more organic sound in general.
If you are willing to go deeper and darker into the world of Motosierra, this is an album you must have.
