,Light In Your Mind" heißt das neue Album von den CYMBALS, es ist die erste Veröffentlichung nach zwei Jahren und das erste Album seit 2014.

Für die Wartenden ist die letzte Publikation eine Ewigkeit her, für alle Beteiligten war es nur ein Moment voller neuen Erfahrungen.

Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2011 hat die Band eine hohe Fluktuation, das Songtextschreiber-Duo Jack Cleverly und Dan Simons bilden seit der Gründung das Fundament der CYMBALS.

Als das Duo damals die Band formierte, ging es in erster Linie nur darum, gemeinsam viel Spaß zu haben.

Dass die irgendwann einmal auf der ganzen Welt Konzerte geben würden, hätten sie nie zu träumen gewagt.

In den letzten sechs Jahren hat die Band schlussendlich drei Alben herausgebracht und über zehn personelle Veränderungen vorgenommen, die die Band weiter geformt haben.

Bei ,LIGHT IN YOUR MIND" waren Justin Goings und Josh Hefferman am Schlagzeug beteiligt, während Alabaster DePlume bei ,Fully Automated Luxury" Saxophon spielte.

Eine große Rolle hatte die Produzentin Kirstin Robinson (Capitol K), sie hat die Band von ihrem bisherigen Albumsound zu dem jetzigen verholfen.

Den letzten Feinschliff besorgte Jorge Elbrecht (ARIEL PINK, TAMARYN) beim Mixing in Miami.

Alle Beteiligten haben somit ihren Teil zur Qualität des Albums beigetragen, doch lag es an Cleverly und Simons, dass das Ergebnis letztendlich so klingt wie sie es sich von Anfang an erdacht haben.

If the wait seems long for the listener, for those involved in its creation the time in between pulls in a lifetime of unexpected experiences.

That Light In Your Mind even exists is a testament to not giving in. That it sounds the way it does is both remarkable and, somehow, inevitable.

At various points over the last six years and across three albums, an EP and single, a rotating cast of at least ten other people have formed some version of CYMBALS.

More still have contributed to Light In Your Mind. Producer Kristian Robinson (Capitol K) is a major presence across the album and played a key role in guiding the transition from the band's sound on their previous record to this one.

Jorge Elbrecht, whose work with Ariel Pink and Tamaryn had inspired the band, mixed the record in Miami, adding those elusive final touches that make a good sounding record great.

Consequently, the music itself possesses a sedimentary quality, a residue of each contributing member compressed into what it is that band have become.
