HANGMEN
IN THE CITY (ACETATE)
From the opening chords of "I Wanna Be Loved" the raw, relentless sincerity of The Hangmen is obvious.
Standout tracks like the "King of The Road" and the Ness/ Small penned "Train" showcase the aggressive cowpunk flavor The Hangmen are known for.
After numerous tours with Social Distortion, singer and longtime fan Mike Ness approached the band and offered to produce their next effort, his first production outside of Social D.
"In The City" is the result, a collection of tracks that epitomize the desperation and sordid underbelly of the city.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1986 the band's Capital Records debut was lost in a sea of bad Hollywood rock, but was a influential among the burgeoning Seattle music scene.
The Hangmen's snotty dirge can be heard in bands ranging from Green River and Mother Love Bone to Hole and Nirvana.
"In The City" is what you wanted but never got from the Stooges reunion!!! For fans of Social Distortion, X, Gun Club, Stooges, Iggy!
