GREATDAYFORUP
FLORES DE SANGRE (SMALL STONE)
GREATDAYFORUP behave so much like a force of nature, they could lead a revolution in music and bring the whole thing crashing down, if they only cared to do so.
For the last few years, they have been ramming into cities up and down the Eastern Seaboard like a Tsunami (you remember what those do, right? Nothing nice), playing mile-high live sets of aggressive, lethal high-energy Rawk and leaving just as quickly and silently as they arrived; it's no wonder they've been winning the hearts and praise of fans and fellow bands alike.
Formed in Albany, New York, GREATDAYFORUP is a cross-pollination of bands from the Northeast (NYC's Greys, Boston's Ajna Chakra, and Albany's Stigmata) that has found, tapped, and booted their own particular vein of East Coast Rock-Dope through trial, error, _and the occasional line-up change.
GREATDAYFORUP, led by Mike Vitali and Michael Langone, hit the scene in 1999 and finally gelled with the addition of Jared Krak on drums and Brendan Slater (ex-Clay People) on bass.
2002 & '03 saw a lot of touring and the release of both their debut EP, Ready Rock and their first full-length effort, God Loves ASinner.
'04 & '05 continued the upward trend, but with a more grueling touring schedule, leaving only enough time for one release, a split with Solace on Underdogma Records.
Over the years, GDFU have shared the stage with bands like Scissorfight, Superjoint Ritual, Dozer, Seemless, Yakuza,(Grammy Winners) Maroon 5 (tee-hee!), Weedeater, Bongzilla, Meatjack, Dove, Solace, Darediablo, and many others.
After spending the past half a decade constantly growing and evolving, GREATDAYFORUP has finally hit their stride.
They have found a home at Small Stone Records. GREATDAYFORUP have established a niche_ At the home of Stoner Rock, they have found the room they needed to bridge the twin shores of Stoner and Metal_ let's call it Stoner with brains, Emo with a big spliff and not a hint of whine, a brain washing, photogenic poison with heavy rocking grooves and powerhouse vocals that creeps behind an explosive live performance.
With the release of Flores De Sangre and tour dates in the works for 2005, GREATDAYFORUP are prepared to infect the masses with mammoth doses of hard rock.
