TOXHARDS, THE
YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD (GREEN VINYL) (HOPELESS RECORDS)
Hog Gods take human form and release "debut" album? When you grow up in a small town you either need to get creative with your downtime or you get radicalized on the internet.
Rising above the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley is the sweet, sultry sound of The Toxhards.
Half psych, half prog, half rock theatre, and half indie (that's four halfs), The Toxhards are breathing a new life into the long-lost genre of ROCK 'n' roll.
From "existential doom-bops" to rip-roaring anthems about hog gods, they offer an genre-crossing, electric and eccentric new alternative sound.
Their music garnering tens of millions of views across TikTok Reels, plus millions more for their entertaining bits & skits (135k followers TikTok, 75k followers Instagram plus 13k YouTube).
Over the course of it's twelve tracks plus four interludes, "Your Neighborhood" follows protagonist Adam, and the discontent he feels for life - losing Beatrice, lacking the courage to follow his ambitions - seed the beginnings of becoming the worst version of himself he could possibly be - an insecure, reactionary individual that finds solace complaining about "others" in dark corners online.
The mid-westerners turned residents of the smog-filled Hellscape of the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley, are also known for their entertaining and rousing live performances featuring 8-foot-tall inflatable pig suits, T-Shirt tossing, dropping unreleased songs, coffee breaks, istrument swapping plus the occasional extended jam (or two, or three, or...).
Each new release and at each show is prove that they are are the future of...whatever. The Toxhards definitely have something to tell and offer us.
In 2023 The Toxhards announced that they had signed with Hopeless Records and released their first single on the label "(The) Coffee Song / October".
In December 2024, the band released a limited (currently sold out) vinyl compilation of their songs & singles that were recorded and released between 2022 and 2024.
