ELME (IT'S ELEVEN RECORDS)
label:
IT'S ELEVEN RECORDS
"Elme" is one of those records where despair and hope, rebellion and gentleness collide and create an electrifying tension.
ÿdeg is a power trio from Berlin, but according to their own statement they come from the "failed democracies of the East" (Saxony, Hungary).
That's why the lyrics are shouted out in Hungarian. Personal and political themes such as alienation, city life and post-truth are filtered through dark, bitter humor.
ÿdeg combine angry post-hardcore of the "Revolution Summer" school with post-punk influences.
Aggressive, driving passages alternate with gentle harmonies. Bass and drums act as an interlocking unit, and the complex guitar work creates a constant underlying tension in the air.
You never know what's going to happen around the next corner. The six songs on "Elme" were recorded by the band themselves and mixed by their drummer Ronny.
The mastering was done by Marvin Menz (Tide Studio, London)."
