OFFENDERS, THE
STORM OVER THE MAINLAND (SUNNY BASTARDS)
20 years of The Offenders in 2025! And for the anniversary, they are not serving yesterday's penne reheated, but the brand new dish `Storm Over The Mainland' The Offenders' 10th album combines all of the band's influences and styles from the last two decades in the new songs.
From the driving offbeat of `Partizani in Budapest', which was released in January, to the mandolin-backed folk-punk of `Off My Chest', from the classic straight-foward ska-punk of `The Way The People Think' to the dominating guitar riffs of the punk rock anthem `Sixteenth Round', this is the band's most varied album to date.
Sophisticated songwriting, catchy chorals and a perfectly tuned `kick-ass' sound that is sure to get people dancing on the dancefloor, in front of the stage or singing along loudly! The Offenders have been committed to and supported the anti-fascist and anti-racist movement worldwide with their music and concerts from the very beginning.
Whether in autonomous youth centres and other cultural institutions, squats or the ultras scene at football matches all over Europe - their message is clear and is of course also reflected in their new songs.
The Offenders are by no means a fun band, even if their music has plenty of that to offer.
Maybe that's what makes their success, credibility and steadily growing popularity for 20 years: `Storm Over The Mainland' is an album with attitude that couldn't be better for an anniversary.
Cheers & Ciao! Offenders were formed in Cosenza (Italy) back in 2005 and relocated in Berlin by the end of 2008.
