LORETTA
BETWEEN PLANETS (TREIBENDER TEPPICH)
Let's start from the beginning. The band name: It appears in the work of the Beatles, Cockney Rebel, Townes Van Zandt, Monty Python.
Which also provides a first clue to the music. The band: Four friends, three of them musicians, 13 albums on the CV.The idea: Old school is the new modern.
No innovation. Don't give a damn about art. Concentrate on what you like to listen to the most.
"Real" songs, with verse, chorus, sometimes a middle section and, if it suits, a change of key.
Melodious without becoming shallow. Rousing without being carried off the rails. Deep without becoming kitschy.
Or, God forbid, esoteric. The album: Everything as always, just different. Guitars, bass, drums, plus audibly more keyboards/synthesizers/soundscapes.
12 songs dedicated to practically all facets of this life. Love, bodies, kittens, clubs, theater, astronomy, living concepts, fashion, tiredness, waste disposal.
And, not to forget, the way to the bathroom. Recorded in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Paks/Hungary and Uppsala/Sweden.
Between Planets, that is.And there you are.
