SCANDAL
SOME STILL DANCE (CLEAR ORANGE BLACK GREY-SPLASH LP) (SUNNY BASTARDS)
SCANDAL is a street-punk band hailing from South London, UK and formed in 1998 with deep roots in the Romanian punk scene.
SCANDAL quickly became one of the most celebrated bands in the Romanian underground, known for their working-class anthems and energetic live shows.
Their sing-along choruses, often centered on punk life, drinking, and camaraderie, became legendary with the infamous anti-police anthem "Patrula Suge Pula" standing out as a rallying cry for their fans (and oppressions from the goverment and cops).
After a six-year hiatus, SCANDAL went to UK in 2016 and reunited with three of the original members.
They grow up fast there with lots of major festival appearances (like Undercover , Obscene Extreme in the Czech Republic, Exit Festival in Serbia or Rebellion/ Blackpool) as well as the *5 Seconds To Riot Euro-Tour* After serveal Underground releases and their sold-out debut "On the Roll" (2018), Sunny Bastards Records became aware of Scandal and released 4 songs on "A handful of Punk & Oi Vol.2" compilation Now's the time for their new album: *Some Still Dance* features 14 tracks, with 10 songs in English and 4 in Romanian, including 4 re-mastered favorites and the legendary "Patrula" song.
This record explores a range of themes, from the band's comeback in "It's A Scandal" to overcoming depression in "Never Give Up" and toxic friendships in "The End." The title track, "Some Still Dance," is a tribute to punk-rock and the friends who've stuck with them through the years.
Expect songs that range from partying and having fun to tackling social issues like "Riot." Recorded at Perry Vale Studios in London, this album is dedicated to "Scandal"'s beloved producer, Pat Collier (original member/Bassist The Vibrators, a-m.o.
produced The Jesus and Mary Chain, X-Ray Spex, Robyn Hitchcock, Soft Boys, UK Subs, and Primal Scream), who sadly passed away this summer.
