RAWSIDE
MENSCHENFRESSER (LTD INK SPOT VINYL) (FETTFLECK)
MENSCHENFRESSER' is the name of RAWSIDE's latest album, with which the band even made it to #81 in the German album charts.
That's why there has to be a repress. Ink spot vinyl means a bright red centre and a black and red mix on the outside.
Five years after what is probably their most personal album, "Your Life Gets Crushed", the hardcore punks from Coburg have released new songs.
Songs that are once again more political, angrier and more aggressive. Here, man-eater means emotional cannibalism, psychological pressure exerted by the way people behave, unpacking elbows when they are just trying to gain their own advantage.
Or people who think they are the center of the world. RAWSIDE never tire of putting their finger in the wound and taking on corrupt business bosses, self-proclaimed conspiracy theorists, right-wing politicians or blunt angry citizens.
The 13 new songs from RAWSIDE are a full broadside, musically it comes across loud and demanding between hardcore, metal and punk.
The force of the songs has reached a new level since the last album. This is perhaps also due to the fresh cell cure in the line-up.
Singer/shouter Henne is the only remaining founding member after more than 30 years of band history.
His son Justin on drums is just 23 years old. "RAWSIDE is fortunately not a one-man show," says Henne.
"We never were and we don't want to be. In 2024, the band signed up with LOIKAEMIE label Fettfleck.
"For us, it was a step towards self-responsibility," explains Henne. At Fettfleck, we are involved in all processes.
And that's the idea behind the whole punk and hardcore concept. So even after over 30 years of band history, RAWSIDE remain a cornerstone of the German HC/punk scene.
"Menschenfresser" is a beast of an album that increases the anticipation for the open air season even more.
