MUSIC FOR MUSIC LOVERS
Olivier Libaux was a composer and guitarist who started his career in the 80's with the neo-pop band Les Objets, followed by two poetic storytelling albums, "L'héroïne au bain" (2003), then "Imbécile" (2007).
These albums included such artists as Philippe Katerine, Helena Noguerra, and JP Nataf.
In the aughts, Olivier Libaux co-founded with Marc Collin the band Nouvelle Vague, a bossa nova style cover band that reinterpreted their favorite new wave songs, over a span of 10 albums and more than 15 years of touring the world.
While well into the development of Nouvelle Vague, Olivier released an album covering the American desert rock band "Uncovered Queens of the Stone Age'', in 2013.
At the time of his sudden passing in September 2021, Olivier had just completed a project around the music he cared about the most and was the most inspired by, specifically the iconic electronic, rock, and post punk bands of the late 70's and 80's.
Artists who included The Stranglers, Billy Idol, Kraftwerk, The Police, Talking Heads_ For this final album, he collaborated with the singers Mélanie Pain, Elodie Frégé, and Marion Grébert, and Raphaël Chassin, co-director of the album, on percussion.
