BLOCKDATA
ENTROPY (OHM RESISTANCE)
Gavin Hislop is a UK-based, award-winning video game sound designer. Entropy is his debut full length album as Blockdata, and is a wide-scope view into his talents across drum n bass, ambient, and bass music soundframes.
An artistic lens into the component creation of the known universe, the album explores concepts from the galactic to the subatomic.
Collaborating with Danish jazz project Haftor Medboe, Gav has expanded the range of the project and introduced more musicality alongside his trademark razor wire distorted mid range motion-inducers.
The album is comprised of massive dancefloor drum n bass tunes (see: Mass Driver, Refractor, and the title track), moments of peace and ambience (Liminal, Anechoic), and bass music marauders (Hexagonal, Binary Warfare), and the remaining tracks writing with a signature of his very own style.
Entropy is designed for a front to back listen, a true full-length of refreshing electronic music showing both modern and classical musical composition, alongside weapons grade sound design.
