While 13 YEAR CICADA rehearsed their first two albums to the letter and recorded them within a week, the third album HAHA GRAVITY allowed for a smoother creative process, switching back and forth between recording, writing, and rethinking.

The writing of lyrics and themes on the album became a collective process centered around the redistribution of wealth and resistance to the concentration of power.

GTA and class struggle, living in one place and being evicted, trickle-down ideology, and working in a restaurant are all connected.

Staying home and reading during the pandemic has been good for them. 13YC want to be part of the big fight.

There is no "end of the story" - the future will be different. The effort to realize radical dreams today needs imaginative, stirring music.

All three musicians/artists of 13 YC have a jazz background, which they escaped early in their career - not because they don't love the genre, but because it seemed important to them to become part of a less elitist and more DIY scene (ok, sometimes moshpits are just more fun than chairs) .

HAHA GRAVITY will be their third studio album, released in a triangular cooperation between Gandula, tomatenplatten and Blaublau Records.
