FISHMAN, PAUL
IT'S ABOUT TIME (PART 1 & 2) (JAMBO RECORDS)
Composer and musician Paul Fishman has been involved in electronic music since his career began. He joined a London based experimental music group when he was 17 and performed works by Stockhausen, Cage, Terry Riley and other contemporary composers.
While studying composition at the Guildhall School of Music was signed to Warner Brother Records by Derek Taylor.
His knowledge of electronics became in demand by film composers and gained him a reputation as a respected session musician within the UK, he has since worked with many artists and legendary record producers (Public Image Limited, Elton John, Slade etc.) During the 80's Paul formed the group Re-Flex, who achieved international success with both album and single "The Politics of Dancing".
He continued to record with many artists including Public Image Ltd but also had begun to gain recognition composing and producing film music.
Paul has since contributed to hundreds of films, credits include - "Superman", "Death Wish", "Breakdance" and among recent work "Get Carter", "The Internecine Project" (Roy Budd) and "Just a Gigolo" (David Bowie & Marlene Dietrich).
As a record producer Paul has worked with many artists and has also mixed tracks for Motown's, - Marvin Gaye & The Temptations.
Returning to his love of electronics and with the goal of creating music that was different and outside current trends, in 2017 Paul began work on a new project "It's About Time".
At the risk of defying musical category, the album combines electronic music with different genres, where space age cyber-funk and ambience get to live together with big tunes.
